Welcome to the Northern California Chapter of the Health Physics Society (NCCHPS) Home Page.

The NCCHPS is a tax-exempt, educational organization which supports the safe use of radiation in research, medicine and industry. Our membership draws from professionals involved in research, industrial, medical and commercial applications in the greater Northern California area. The chapter is affiliated with the national Health Physics Society of over 6,000 specialists in radiation safety.

The chapter sponsors educational opportunities for students and the local community. It also established and continues to fund the Burton J. Moyer Fellowship, publishes a newsletter and membership directory, frequently holds meetings with invited speakers, and provides information on the potential risks of radiation relative to the benefits.
