The CRMCHPS holds a total of about six dinner meetings per year, from September through May. Meetings are traditionally held at various locations between Golden and Fort Collins, and feature a social hour, dinner, and technical program. Announcements from previous meetings are given further below on this page.
Upcoming Meetings
You are invited to attend a joint meeting of the Central Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Health Physics Society and the Colorado Section of the American Nuclear Society. The meeting will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2005 at the Ramada Plaza & Convention Center (Formerly Holiday Inn – Northglenn), 10 East 120th Avenue, Northglenn (driving directions below). Our speaker will be Ruth McBurney, the HPS President-Elect. Ruth will be speaking on “Health Physics and the Health Physics Society in a Changing Environment”. On another note, mark your calendars for May 17 – a dinner meeting/Mini Symposium with the following participants: Val Johnson – tabletop display of radiation instruments Joe Aldrich – either the “Neutron Dose Reconstruction Project” or the “Former Radiation Worker Medical Surveillance Program at Rocky Flats” Jim Langsted – “Cost Considerations for Demonstrated D&D Technologies Used for Contaminated Glovebox Disposal” Peter Vernig – “Intravascular Brachytherapy” (irradiating coronary arteries with sealed sources to suppress a proliferative growth which clogs them in about 20% of angioplasty treatments) Gene Potter – “Intake and Dose Assessment from Contaminated Wounds” I will send more information on the May 17 meeting as the date gets a bit closer.
